Crowd-pleasers
Customers have no trouble navigating the choices on offer. But they don’t like having to wait.
If they’re considering something today, they want it in their home tomorrow. As a furniture retailer, keeping up with that tempo is no easy task. But out of the blue, PEPP has become an option: a commercial and logistical business model. Dropshipping goes further than the front door.
PEPP was conceived in October 2023 — after a thorough market analysis. The low-profile launch became a flying start. Within a year, the label had 80 sales points in the Netherlands. In Brussels, PEPP is emphatically showcasing itself to the outside world for the first time.
The basic principle is the quick delivery of ‘crowd-pleasers’ from stock. In other words, a limited number of popular models in popular configurations and two or three popular fabrics. This limited selection plays it safe. The shopping consumer generally chooses one of the sofas presented, and that still holds true. As soon as the rapid delivery — within five working days — comes into the picture, they are immediately sold. PEPP chimes perfectly with the new consumer, and lightens the load for the interior specialist.
This frees them up to focus on selling. PEPP keeps the core range in stock in the central Netherlands. The sofas can be delivered postage paid to the furniture store, or direct to the consumer. The cost for delivery to your door is €55, and for full-service dropshipping €99 (including positioning the sofa and taking away the packaging). ‘For the retailer, the calculation is quickly made.’
In addition to the core range, customisation remains an option. In that, PEPP goes with the flow.
