Norwegian trio
Norway is known for being one of the happiest countries in the world.
And in the furniture industry, as the country of Stressless®, the source of Scandinavian reclining armchairs. Now it’s exhibiting for the first time at the Brussels Furniture Fair. Encircled by the labels Svane® and IMG comfort. With these three brands, Norway’s largest furniture manufacturer is complete: the Ekornes Group will be showing us what they’ve got!!
Stressless® needs no introduction. This brand enjoys international name recognition with the B2B and B2C audience. Its reclining armchairs often serve as models for the so-called Scandinavian style. The 2025 collection will be introduced in Brussels.
The Adam model is all about functional & innovative design. For Stressless® it is the first reclining armchair with the zero gravity (electric) and tilt (manually adjustable headrest) options. The design focuses on compact and cosy comfort. The graciously curved armrests are invitingly open, as if in a welcoming gesture. When you sit down, you feel embraced and secure. Your body is supported by the lavish upholstery.
The Paul and Philip models are part of the same family. Both take account of the growing height of the population – above all in Northern Europe. Each does this in its own way. Paul opts for the height-adjustable headrest: a practical and aesthetically pleasing solution. The 7 cm leeway makes the armchair suitable for tall and less tall people. When it’s not in use, the headrest can be in the lowest position. So visually, the armchair takes up less space. Paul is the longest model in the Stressless® range. Philip has a fixed high back. It is what it is, without concealed options. A clear difference between the two models is the design of the back. With Philip, the decorative bands run across the width. Paul accentuates its height by means of vertical piping in the back, plus the ergonomic support in its flanks.
So the one remaining question is: why are they exhibiting in Brussels for the first time now? “Because this one furniture fair is so central to the entire European furniture market.”
