Fiera has everything and nothing to do with a ‘trade fair’.

A design trend is translated into a universal style. Straight lines run into one another via rounded corners. Square becomes blunt. Vertical bends towards horizontal. Details deviate from the average. Solid wood becomes delicate. This furniture range is widely applicable, but the target group is more general than specific. Theuns gives a sneak preview of one of the two innovations that will be showcased in Brussels.

First let’s banish a misunderstanding: Fiera is Italian for trade fair, but in this case Esperanto for noble and proud. The only link to the term ‘trade fair’ is that the collection will be introduced at Brussels Furniture Fair.

Fiera is a universal interpretation of the organic design trend. Rounded shapes are applied more discreetly than dominantly. External corners are of course rounded: from the cabinet body and doors to the tabletop. Fiera’s standout characteristic is its rounded detailing. Square joints have been transformed into an arc-shaped T-construction. These form the framework for the parallel rounded doors and side panels of the cabinet. One obtuse angle fits into another. Viewed from the front, the vertical stile bends down to form a horizontal dividing line between the doors. In short, the organic trend is translated into a sophisticated design style in solid oak.

You can interpret the Fiera style in various ways. Classic, or country with a modern twist – and vice-versa. That was precisely Theuns’ intention. Fiera is a hybrid variant that fits in a wide range of interiors, and appeals to a wide target group. This is also expressed in the options within the range. Will the oak be natural, or stained in walnut or black? Everyone can make their personal mark on Fiera. The finishing touch? The oak knob on the doors and drawers.

As well as Fiera, a second new collection line will follow in Brussels. This will remain a secret until then.
