Bedroom? Living rooms!
A new Scandinavian exhibitor at the fair: Cinall from Denmark. Valued by insiders for its solid wood bedroom ranges.
But Cinall is capable of – and keen to offer – more. To generate wider name recognition in the Benelux region. To make more of a name for itself with its full interior collection. Designed in Denmark – made in & for Europe. It’s on these fronts that Cinall wants to catch up in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Cinall’s Danish roots shine through in its collection. The KD pieces are fashioned from 100% solid pine, beech and oak, often in combination with leather, stainless steel, glass and — new — webbing. At Cinall, durability is also linked to ‘generations’: the passing down of specialist knowledge and the pieces themselves from generation to generation. This is strongly apparent in the quality of finish and flexibility of the collections.
You see it in the flat-pack approach. Need to put together a wardrobe? You can do it in under an hour. How? Simply follow the instructions in the five-minute online video. What a contrast to a paper handbook and a low-budget montage (and fittings).
The pieces showcase the laminated wood with the typical finger joint from all angles. You see the wooden feet beneath the cabinets change shape: the front view changes from 2D at the bottom to 3D at the top. Such elements give the collection a handcrafted cachet.
Cinall uses the module model for its ranges. Take the cabinet collections. You start with the outer dimensions of the modules and end with the placement of the cabinet in the room. It can hang on the wall, or stand on feet, a plinth or a podium, and be set against the wall or stand freely in the space. (All cabinets are finished with a back wall.) The layout, interpretation and finish of the cabinets offer tremendous freedom – from both a practical and aesthetic point of view. The options are pretty wide-ranging.
The same applies to the bedrooms. With all beds, space is provided for an extra storage drawer. All standing and floating bedside tables leave exactly the right amount of space free.
In the occasional pieces category, you chiefly find multifunctional items. The Comma desk is available in two versions: to work at sitting down or standing up. Another eye-catcher is the modular wardrobe rack: you can organise it however you like with coat hangers, a dressing mirror, and one or two shelves.
Modular working equals flexibility both presale and aftersales care, over time. That too is a form of sustainability.
