MORE IS MORE

More than 200 lighting products on a single stand.

Lighting all around you: in fixtures for the floor, ceiling and wall — and new — in paintings. Trio Lighting is opting for more materials, colours, moods and comfort such as the motorised pendant lamps. Its sister company Mirrors and More fills in the blanks with Home decoration.

All tables should have pendant lamps above them. But how do you determine the perfect height? You’ve got to get it right, because it’s going to be there for a long time… Now this decision is a thing of the past, as Trio Lighting is launching the lift-me function. A motor allows you to adjust the height of the pendant lamp using a touch sensor on the fixture, or with a remote control. Each suspension cable has its own motor. Multiple cables mean multiple motors that you can operate individually or in synchrony. This is exactly what you want: a lamp that hangs perfectly straight or deliberately askew. (The motorised pendant lamps are available in three series.) The same remote control can also be used to regulate the brightness and colour of the light. A new setting is the night light: several of the series feature a pendant lamp as an orientation guide.

When you look at the offering, it’s hard to pick up a single design trend. Anything goes and is possible. The retro round shapes remain popular—preferably in a multi-coloured combination. For example, Cannon has added the new colour apricot to the black-and-white palette. Shapes are inspired by the natural world: the spiral of whirlpools and whirlwinds (Cisenna), spider legs (Spider). Or by geometry: the circle as a ring (Cromer) or discs (Keaton). In short, anything goes and is possible.

Mirrors and More Home
Previously absent was the collection of home accessories to complement the mirrors and occasional furniture. These decorative items are conceptually developed around trend themes such as ‘wild’, ‘glam’, and ‘cream’. To give you an idea: ‘wild’ features impressive anthropomorphic portraiture: animals or pets in an aristocratic setting. The lion, king of the jungle, sits in a baroque chair and sports an illuminated crown. Wildlife reappears everywhere: on decorative cushions, as a side table, or wall lamp. From Mirrors and More, you can expect more ‘Home’.
