The look is appealing, the comfort is surprising, so the sofa is sold.

The big sofa and organic models continue to be hot. As expected, Confortluxe follows this trend – but with a caveat. No faking, what you see is technically authentic. The last thing you’d expect? This table, these chairs. One look and you’re sold.

First the sofas. Anouk is a truly contemporary model: the organic design, the low back, the many modules. But what gives this model its unique appeal? The asymmetrical corner module with its rounded L-shape. What makes this model truly surprising? The seating comfort thanks to the pocket spring interior — and this is precisely what differentiates Confortluxe.

The Big Sofa theme is elaborated in two models. Eloise emphasises XXL relaxation and lounging. The basic seat depth of 90 cm is electrically adjustable up to 115 cm long. Vidar is an XXL version of the classic Chesterfield. A stand-out feature of both models is the richly tufted upholstery. This is not a look, but true craftsmanship. The rectangular grid pattern is entirely cut from foam. The fabric is pulled tightly over it and sewn into place. Hardly any wadding is involved. The result: a long-lasting, taut upholstery. Here lies the difference between fake and technically authentic.

Talking of upholstery: Confortluxe is introducing a buffalo leather look — in microfibre. This too is a world apart from the polyurethane lookalikes.

The highlight: the Lyra table; and the Lagoon, Tempest and Vision chairs. Masterpieces of furniture design and craftsmanship sculpted from solid oak. Their clever design makes them appear to have been ‘moulded’ or ‘cast’ from wood. Nature serves as a source of materials, shapes, and movement for them. Take the table support: the horizontal figure of eight is the mathematical symbol of infinity. You can interpret the wooden loop as a visual metaphor for the rhythmic balance of contrasts in nature. Think of the constant alternation of high and low tide, day and night, … A restful movement, a comforting thought. The tabletop is truly 100% ceramic, without underlying material. The chairs are shaped with equal artistry. For example, look at how such a short armrest ‘turns’ out of the leg.

There’s no two ways about it: it stops you in your tracks, takes your breath away.
