About the Fair
Growing & Blooming!
The Brussels Furniture Fair 2025 has drawn to a close. Right the way through, the positive vibes were palpable and visible. The economic context may have been less rosy, but the fair turned out far better than expected, with performance and presentation exceeding expectations. Brussels is growing and blooming.
Ultimately, you judge a trade fair by the figures. Almost all exhibitors were satisfied, indeed more than satisfied, with the results. Their words speak volumes. ‘The downward trend has been reversed. Fortunately we scored well again this year, and the figures bear this out.’ Despite the fact that the number of visitors fell slightly (by 3.8%). A bald figure is not the whole story. There were fewer visitors from Belgium, which was no surprise. And this was partly compensated for by more visitors from abroad, with the Netherlands leading the charge, followed by France. The tally now stands at almost 70% international trade visitors. ‘For next year, we’re aiming for an even higher score.’
A fair’s appeal revolves around its offering, its atmosphere, the inspiration it provides, and its mood. The growth stimulus was certainly there. The offering was expanded into new segments: more outdoor, more contract, more suppliers, and – strikingly – more international (and) higher-end brands! This was clearly apparent in the Brussels by Night Hall. In fact you can barely describe it as a hall… It’s more like a stand-alone bedding fair within the Furniture Fair.
So what got people talking? The styling and upgrading van de stands! Literally everyone was wowed by Confortluxe’s spectacular conservatory. And you could gather bucketloads of inspiration on a smaller scale too. One example was Schramm’s homemade pendant lamps. Semi-transparent copper cylinder, almost fragile, filled with a mattress component. A floating feather here, a tuft of wool there. Wherever you roamed, if you allowed your eyes to drink it all in, you were sure to go home with a treasure-trove of inspiration and input.
We round off the 2025 fair and blog with a promise: Brussels will keep on growing & blooming…
