Is offshoring a necessity?

At Bauwens, in Beernem, West Flanders, they don’t think so. Furniture is still manufactured locally by skilled workers with expertise in solid wood and melamine. Dining and bedroom ranges are the main focus, alongside a wide selection of tables, chairs and sofas.

Since CEO David Lano took the helm, the company has implemented a long-term strategy that has not only led to an expansion of the range – including MDR, a collection of pre-assembled furniture – but also sharpened the focus on what Bauwens aims to be: a safe haven.

A host of new collections will be unveiled at the Brussels Furniture Fair. These include the stylish Vanessa and Ummi bedroom collections, the new Vero kitchen unit, and Valerio: a brand-new dining room range in refined melamine with a natural wood finish. Sleek yet warm.
