A world apart within the Furniture Fair. Populated by a diverse group of DESIGNERS, a mix of well-known names and up-and-coming design talent. They have one thing in common: their creative spirit. Their home base is Belgium, and the design is made in Belgium. They warmly invite everyone to take a look, to have a chat, or to immerse themselves in greater depth in the design. What are the ins & outs? The BELGIAN DESIGN ISLAND is a must-see!

Designers view the world with an open mind, step off the beaten track. They notice what is bubbling underground, and point out developments before they become mainstream. In fact, they contemplate what’s going on now and dream up what’s coming next. They are pioneers, experimenters and innovators. They are the creative engine of the interior design field.

With the BELGIAN DESIGN ISLAND, we want to put Belgium on the map: as a multicultural breeding ground for interior design. This is where the Germanic and Romance cultures meet and inspire one another. This kind of breeding ground appeals to the international design scene: Belgium is also an inspiring place to be! But is this widely known? That is why the 2024 Furniture Fair is committed to our designers in the interior world. All gangplanks lead to the BELGIAN DESIGN ISLAND.

The population consists of a diverse melange of renowned design studios, design brands and designers-in-the-making, the VOMO students. Everything on the BELGIAN DESIGN ISLAND has been designed and made on Belgian soil. The offering varies from pieces of furniture to decorative items, floor, wall and window coverings – suitable for the residential and/or contract market.

Our advice to visitors and exhibitors alike: be sure to take a look at the BRUSSELS DESIGN ISLAND! There’s a refreshing breeze blowing there, and that’s always a good thing…
