ALL-IN FOR ALL
The bar is constantly being raised,
an exclusive feature becomes the universal norm. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel, go direct to the source. Result: smart technology is both standard and widely accessible. Therein lies a golden opportunity.
Throwback: Brussels 2024, the Recor Bedding stand. That ping pong ball on the bed that just kept on turning. It proved that the massage function indeed works with subtle, rotating movements. And if you listened hard, you heard nothing. Interest in the system had been piqued.
The Wave concept is based on the linearly adjustable Smart base — with functions including Zero Gravity, 3D-Wave™ massage, Sleep Position, Dream Experience and with Bluetooth control. It sounds (partly) familiar, but in fact works differently. For starters, the smart base comes straight from Reverie® (US): the authority in the field of electrically adjustable and modular bases (with more than 100 patents to its name, more than six million sold examples since 2003). Buying direct means a lower price, making it affordable for a wider audience.
A linear motor was once exclusive, but is now the standard in the world of adjustable beds. But then there is the 3D-Wave® massage function. How is it possible that its rotating movements are as quiet as a whisper? Put simply, the massage motor hangs freely in the base, in a semi-floating cradle. A cut-out in the base puts it in direct contact with the mattress. For physics boffins, it works on the principle of resonance. That’s why the massage function is as quiet as a whisper, without jolting or shaking, with wave-like movements in three directions (3D).
The crux of the Wave concept: the slim Smart base is the physical platform for the upholstery of the bed. With or without a plinth, as a box spring, one of the headboard models, you name it.
Fast forward to Brussels 2025, and there are no optional extras: the functions are now standard for all electric bases from Recor Bedding. The concept: everyone has the right to enjoy the Smart in its best iteration. The sales process can be conducted without endless hesitation about technical options (which would affect the price). Electric simply equals all-in. The full focus then shifts to the design and styling of your bed: The Wave concept. That is a question of taste and budget. How far will/can you go? That is the subject of the sales conversations, here you can make the difference, get results. The styling should not prove an obstacle. That’s why there will be a freestanding Smart on display in Brussels, on design legs: the entry-level model.
That is the idea: the Smart is all-in — for all.
