Fishbone

Meubar pays particular attention to the doors. One time the focus will be on an industrial frame, another time on a fishbone finish or a ribbed profile.

The fishbone finish is a melamine, based on the classic parquet pattern. The wood colour tends towards teak. You see it on the cabinet fronts and tabletop of Jaipur. The alternative is the brushed oak planks finish, ‘laid’ vertically on the doors and horizontally on the drawer fronts. Fishbone or planks, both finishes fit into a classic and natural interior.

The industrial frame alludes to the Alcatraz collection. The glass-fronted section in the cabinets is closed off by an industrial sliding door: the top half consists of a ‘factory window’ with ‘metal’ frames around the panes. When you open it, the glass-fronted door slides in front of the other cabinet door. This collection ties in with a rather refined industrial and loft ambiance.

The ribbed profile returns in Trentino’s handleless MDF doors. These are set somewhat deeper into the cabinet. The LED lighting above every door is decorative and practical. The combination of the dark walnut and the black fits perfectly with the seventies retro trend.
